Help & Support

Everything you need to set up, optimise and troubleshoot your Friitz devices. Can't find your answer? Email us at contact@friitz.com and our team will help.

1. Getting started

  1. Connect your router to power and to your line — fiber into the fiber port, or the DSL cable into the DSL port.
  2. Wait about a minute for the status lights to settle.
  3. On a phone or computer, connect to the Wi-Fi name and password printed on the base of the device.
  4. Open a browser and go to http://friitz.box to launch the setup wizard, then follow the on-screen steps.

Most homes are online within a few minutes.

2. Getting the best Wi-Fi

  • Place the router centrally, off the floor and away from thick walls, metal and microwaves.
  • Keep it in the open — not inside a cabinet.
  • For larger homes or multiple floors, add a mesh repeater (see below).

3. Extending your Wi-Fi with mesh

  1. Plug the repeater into a socket about halfway between your router and the area with weak signal.
  2. Press the Connect button on the repeater, then the Connect/WPS button on your router within two minutes.
  3. The repeater joins your existing network under the same Wi-Fi name — no separate login needed.

4. Smart home & phones

Pair smart plugs, thermostats and sensors, or register a cordless handset, from the Smart Home and Telephony sections of your router's settings. Follow the guided pairing steps for each device.

5. Software updates

Your device installs security and feature updates automatically. To check manually, open your router settings, go to System › Update, and install the latest version. Updates are always free.

Troubleshooting

  • No internet: Check the cable is in the correct port (fiber vs DSL) and firmly seated. Restart the router by switching it off for 10 seconds.
  • Slow or dropping Wi-Fi: Move closer to the router, reduce obstructions, or add a mesh repeater. Restarting the router often helps.
  • Forgot the password: The default Wi-Fi name and password are printed on the base of the device. You can also reset to factory settings with the reset button.
  • A device won't connect: Toggle its Wi-Fi off and on, or "forget" the network and reconnect.

How many devices can connect? Dozens at once, thanks to Wi-Fi 7 and mesh.

Is my connection secure? Yes — a firewall, encrypted Wi-Fi and regular free updates protect your network.

What's the warranty? Every device is covered by the manufacturer's warranty shown on its product page.
